Dave is President of RFSM andlikes to build larger scale jets, dioramas with armor and sci fi models. His favorite project was his first major diorama, a Tamiya 88mm gun in a dug out pit.
He likes decaling and especially old school painting by hand. He can do without all that filling and sanding, though!
When not building models, Dave likes to ski, shoot competitively and take videos of jet aircraft and take his Border Collie/Lab mix, Riley, to the dog park.
His favorite jet of all-time is the F-4 Phantom II any flavor. The club comedian, Dave always has something funny to say!
Charles love building helicopters, not a surprise seeing as he “works” with them today and when he was in the USAF and DoD (he could tell you, but then he’d have to kill you). His favorite is a DML/Panda 1/35 UH-1N that he made custom markings for. He likes scratch building heli interiors, but man, decals are a pain!
General aviation is his other big hobby.
Kids? He has enough for a poker game. If someone in the club is building a helicopter, CC’s information is invaluable! Frank's main scale interest is large scale automotive subjects. His favorite build ever was a 1930 Model A sedan by Hubbley. Likes? Building up those engines. Dislikes? Wiring up those engines! He loves to attend car shows and has 6 kids. He’s married to his wife Ann, another one of our prolific builders.
They also have 3 pets: Salza, Mini, and Pepper. Frank’s had some great rides like a ’56 Chevy 2 door, ‘64 Corvette, and a ’63 Cadillac.
When he was in the Marine Corps, his favorite posting was at El Toro, MCAS. That was a great place for airshows back in the day! James’ favorite car was a 1979 Z28 that he rebuilt from the ground up, he currently drives a hot Pontiac G8 so it’s no wonder that he likes to model muscle cars. He also enjoys building Navy jets and WWII planes. Sanding seams and applying Bare Metal Foil to cars are not his favorite activities, but he loves the research that goes into a project. He’s got 2 kids to keep him busy otherwise. His favorite build was a Monogram 1/24 Boss 429 Mustang.
Ann loves to build everything automotive. Trucks, tanks, cars, you name it. Preferably in larger scales!
Her favorite subject she built was the massive Tamiya 1/16 Tiger I.
She loves all parts of the building process (that’s what we like to hear!) and her least favorite is “Not enough time to build”.
To knit, crochet, and paint in oils and acrylics are her other past-times.
Ann has 5 children and with Frank, her husband, takes care of her girls Salza, Mini, and Pepper. She has owned four Mini-Coopers and loved them all.

He enjoys playing guitar and target & tactical shooting as well. He has 2 grown kids, a cat named Jak Jak and a white German Shepherd, Trooper.
Chris has a passion for Russian jets in 72nd and 48th scales and his favorite kit was a Trumpeter 1/32 MiG-21. Gluing stuff together is not his favorite pastime, but painting and research he wholeheartedly enjoys!
When not building? It’s “guns, guns, guns!” like the rest of us. He also enjoys a good beer (who doesn’t!). He’s owned and worked on a ’70 Mustang and a ’66 Galaxie.
Chris’s done 15 yrs. In the USAF and 9 yrs. In the Army Guard. He loved his posting in Korea, but didn’t like working at Nellis (at least he got to see jets at work!)

His main focus at home is figures, armor, and dioramas and enjoys building in all scales, although his favorite project is a 1/9th Imperial Stormtrooper that he scratch built way before any kits were available.

Mike likes building emergency vehicles, semi-trucks, figures and odd n’ ends. His favorite build is his American La France Eagle firetruck.
While he likes building up the engine and chassis, he doesn’t look forward to the painting and polishing.
He has two kids, one of each, and 13 cats! He used to enjoy working on his cars, his favorite of which was his 1970 Impala.
Mike is also a veteran of the Navy and enjoyed being stationed in the Philippines.

His favorite build, however, has been a 1/32 F-15E Strike Eagle.
He enjoys the construction phase of model building, but his least favorite part is getting that paint on.
When not building models he likes to remodel…houses that is. James has five cats to keep him company.
Phil is always wheelin’ and dealin’ as he buys and sells collections when he can.
He’s into modern aircraft, his favorite project being a 1/72 Hasegawa F-104 Starfighter. He hates when a kit comes with a poor cockpit, but then enjoys scratchbuilding the detail into it!
He dabbles in stock investments and collecting DVDs.
Jenny is new to plastic modelling and enjoys building 1/24 cars. Naturally, she has a powerful 2015 Dodge Challenger! Her favorite build is, you guessed it, a Dodge Challenger.
She also enjoys cooking and cake decorating. In fact, she has a small catering business and is a professional chef.
She’s into fitness and travel along with her husband, Sam. She has two German Shepherds, a cat, and two Chihuahuas.
Emery is an active USAF airman and he is a loader on the F-22A Raptor. His favorite modelling subject is jet aircraft, but he’s also getting into armor to build the M88 his father crewed.
He fondly remembers building a big B-52 when he was a kid. His favorite part of the process? Being done!
He also enjoys RC aircraft including drones, rocketry and general aviation history. He is married to Shelbly Chandler (below) and they have one cat.
Chris is big into model cars, trucks, etc. as well as the real things. Anything big scale, from 1/24 to 1/8, is fair game.

Welcome to RFSM, Red Flag Scale Modelers. We are a local Las Vegas club who's members build a little bit of everything from cars and ships to aircraft and sci-fi. Our emphasis is on building at our meetings and showing and talking about our finished and in-progress projects. We also have an annual contest and participate in local and out-of-state contests as well without pressuring our members to be competetive if they don't want to be. We participate in Nellis AFB's Aviation Nation every year and attend airshows, museums, etc. in and out-of-state as well. On this page you will find the roster of our membership and a gallery of each members models. You can click on the name lists left and right to jump directly to that member. Thanks and enjoy!
